John brings 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Rosso Commercial Real Estate Services. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than $1 billion in sales and leasing transactions and has been recognized by CoStar Group on six occasions as a “Power Broker” for both Retail and Office transactions in the Greater Baltimore market. This depth of experience across asset classes positions John as a truly full-service commercial real estate professional.
John’s path into commercial real estate was self-driven and began early. While still in high school, he enrolled in real estate classes at a local brokerage in Severna Park and earned his real estate license as a high school senior. He went on to attend Anne Arundel Community College, where he joined The Hogan Companies/Murphy-Hogan, gaining early exposure to land and commercial brokerage. After transferring to the University of Maryland, College Park, John remained focused on a career in commercial real estate, transitioning to Murphy Commercial Real Estate, where he spent more than a decade before founding Rosso Commercial in late 2016.
John holds a Finance degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and was a member of the national fraternity Phi Delta Theta. In 2019, he earned the SIOR designation—an achievement reserved for highly qualified commercial real estate professionals with a sustained and proven transaction history. He is an active member of ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and has participated in the CCIM program. John was also appointed by former AA County Executive Steve Schuh to serve on the Agricultural-Tourism Commission, focused on advancing economic development in Southern Anne Arundel County while preserving its rural character. In 2024, he was recognized by the Baltimore Business Journal as a Top 40 Under 40 honoree in the Baltimore region.
John is deeply engaged in the community and nonprofit sector. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, one of the county’s largest nonprofit funding organizations, and on the Board of Directors for the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation. He also serves on the board of Rise & Shine Bakery, a social-enterprise nonprofit providing job training and employment opportunities to individuals facing barriers to employment. Previously, John served on the boards of the Greater Severna Park & Arnold Chamber of Commerce, the Anne Arundel Commercial & Industrial Association (AACIA), The Arc of the Central Chesapeake, Creating Communities, and Lifting Anne Arundel, a local philanthropic giving circle. John also participates annually in Fish for a Cure as a member of Team “Reel Counsel,” where he and his teammates have raised more than $825,000 in support of the Cancer Survivorship Program at Luminis Health / Anne Arundel Medical Center.
John lives in Annapolis with his wife and two young sons.
